You can't manage a care home from the office.
So, before anyone dumps more bureaucracy on care home managers, they should remember that every additional minute spent in the office is a minute taken away from residents, staff and relatives.
This morning the schools parliamentary select committee have made swingeing criticisms of OFSTED, the national inspectorate of children's services. Similar criticisms could be made of CQC.
One way in which some of you may know of John is through his writing and speaking at conferences. He is contributor to Caring Times, Care Management Matters and some of the other magazines. He also writes papers for some of the journals and chapters for edited books on social care, and has written two books - The Handbook of Residential Care and Managing Residential Care, both published by Routledge

To introduce ideas/concepts for discussion between managers & the sector
